In The Home Stretch - Music and Madness

In a press release issued last Tuesday it is reported that musician Rick Droit is in the home stretch on his eagerly awaited new album, Rick gave a short statement to press about the content of the new disc

"I'm pretty excited it's almost ready, this album has not only guitar and vocals, but certain tracks have fiddle, mandolin, bass, drums, cello, piano, flute, washtub bass, harmonica and even a wonderful Hurdy Gurdy, I'm very grateful for all the great people who helped make this happen"  Droit said.
"Its true Americana, its got country songs, rock and roll, folk and an Irish Celtic style song, I would say it's also Crossover music, a little something for everyone"

When asked about the creative process Droit chuckled and told us "Yeah. .it's quite an experience, you start off really excited to start recording again, and then by the time its to the mixing stage, you are excited about it being finished. .it becomes like a kind of madness..listening to the rough mixes, rendering the artwork.. you never want to rush a good thing though, if you want it done right"  Good Advice, and it seems to be working for the rising star, his first two CD's are being sought after in anticipation of the new album.

Information from the artists website mentions that guests include two duets with Texas State Musician Sara Hickman, as well as contributions by Mark Hallman who used to play with Carole King and Dan Fogelberg, Christopher Yarrow, Warren Hood, Laura Freeman, Kristin DeWitt, Helena Nash, Tami Griffin, Theo Bick, Erin Jo Enochs, and Brian Standefer
